Lamborghini Murcielago is probably not a good idea

We appreciate people that can break a dance or two anytime, but there are still some places that are are a little more conducive to dancing than others. A gas station, unfortunately, isn’t one of them.

This is especially true when you’re trying to gas up a Lamborghini Murcielago. Now, the sudden bust-a-move of this dude isn’t all that embarrassing because he doesn’t appear to have two left feet, but the underlying dangers that come with what he’s doing are far too great to even play with, not the least of which is spilling gas on the Murcielago’s paint. That alone will cost more than a full tank on the Lamborghini.

Mercedes-Benz gives some models in its S-Class flagship line a stupefying amount of horsepower for a dignified, prestigious sedan. The S-Class once stood alone as the ultimate luxury car in America, far outdoing Cadillac. The higher-horsepower versions deliver a miserable 11-12 mpg in the city and 17 to 19 on highways.

(A fuel-stingy 241-horsepower diesel is scheduled for later introduction in 2011, but buyers best have easy access to diesel fuel.)

Introduced for 2010, the S400 was the first Mercedes with hybrid drive. Cruising at high speeds is effortless. “Smooth” is this car’s middle name, which can’t be said for some gas/electric hybrid autos.

It has sport and comfort shift modes and easily used steering wheel paddle shifters for manual operation. Outside of the outlandish high-horsepower versions, the S-Class isn’t meant to be driven really hard.

It has precise speed-sensitive steering with the right amount of power boost, secure handling, reassuring ride control and strong braking, with an easily modulated pedal. The S400 looks as impressive as other Mercedes S-Class models. Especially noteworthy are long, wide-opening rear doors. Mercedes long has prided itself on safety, and the S400 is packed with comfort, convenience and safety features. Lock the car remotely and the large outside mirrors automatically fold flush with the front-door glass to prevent expensive damage to the mirrors.
Comfort features include a dual-zone automatic climate control system and heated and ventilated front seats. The large, nicely shaped trunk has a wide, moderately high opening, and the trunk lid has an automatic closer.

The Mercedes Benz S400 Hybrid is the world’s first mass produced car with a lithium ion battery. It’s the first Mercedes with a hybrid drive. The S400 Hybrid arrived in US showrooms in August 2009.

HybridCars.com did our own mileage test of this big luxury sedan on the roads of Southern Germany. We achieved an impressive 29.3 miles per gallon—not bad for a car that weighs almost 5,000 pounds. The buyer of the S400 hybrid is probably just as interested in pairing the Mercedes three-pointed star emblem with a hybrid badge, to demonstrate a combined interest in luxury, refinement, and green status. As the hybrid version of the Benz flagship S-Class sedan, the S400 is powered by a mild hybrid system with a 3.5-liter V6 gas engine. Engineers made this hybrid system as well-packaged and light as possible.

2010 BMW M1 supercar designed

THERE I was packing my swag, grateful for the little shade provided by the Coolibah tree on the edge of the Billabong when my thoughts turned to BMW’s latest concept car. Probably not destined to be the subject of ADL scrutiny there is however an interesting story for which it provided the inspiration.

BMW’s original M1 supercar turns 30 this year and to celebrate the folks from Bavarian Motor Werks revealed their aptly named Hommage concept (pictured above) – clearly a modern day M1 in the making. It caused a stir to say the least, with obvious retro M1 cues and plenty of comic book styling – many applauded but not everyone appreciated the bold styling and crab-like face.

The official unveiling of most concept cars is often followed by speculation concerning the likelihood of a production version. In the case of the Hommage speculation was rife and the stage was unwittingly set for a very talented CGI artist to boost his profile.

Honda Prelude Cars Pictures Review

Introduced in 1979, the Honda Prelude was the company's first attempt at building an exciting car that still held true to the core Honda values of intelligent design and reliability. Over the next two decades, the two-door sport coupe would become the primary performance car in the Honda lineup. Although it was outfitted with relatively powerful engines in later generations, the Prelude was not a muscle car. It was built around handling and drivability, while providing enough power to remain competitive.

If you're searching for a used Honda Prelude, you'll likely be encountering the fifth and final generation, which was sold from 1997-2001. It was larger and heavier than any of the previous models. It was also the most dynamic. There were two trim levels: base and Type SH. Both got a 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine with VTEC and a standard five-speed manual transmission. A four-speed automatic was available as an option on the base model. Initially, the engine put out 195 horsepower, but in 1999, Honda bumped maximum power up to 200 hp in the manual-transmission models.
Both trims were equipped with a generous array of standard features that included 16-inch alloy wheels, ABS, cruise control, a sunroof, air-conditioning and full power accessories. The main difference between the base model and the Type SH was the addition of Honda's Active Torque Transfer System, an electronic system that distributed torque to the outside drive wheel in cornering situations. Its purpose was to minimize understeer and thus mimic rear-wheel-drive cornering characteristics.
In road and comparison tests, our editors found the Honda Prelude Type SH to be one of the best-handling cars in its class -- truly a driver's car. It was nimble and well balanced, while also maintaining a decent amount of ride comfort. There was just enough engine performance to be sporty, with the VTEC four performing a Jekyll-and-Hyde transformation in feel and sound above 5,200 rpm. Zero-to-60 times were in the low 7s. In 1999, the Prelude won Edmunds.com's Editors' Most Wanted award for Best Sport Coupe ($10,000-$25,000). In 2000, it won again for Best Sport Coupe.
Despite being a great-performing car, the Honda Prelude was lacking in other areas. The interior boasted high-quality materials and construction, but it lacked the visual pizzazz buyers had come to expect from a car with a $26,000 price tag. Honda maintained a conservative approach here, filling the cabin with a monochromatic color scheme and Accord-like gauges and controls. The front seats, though comfortable, weren't available in leather and had limited adjustability. The rear seats had minimal legroom. The fifth-generation Prelude has aged well, however, as that restrained interior design now seems classier and less dated than brash designs like the contemporary Toyota Celica.

BMW X Diesel engines SUV Model Car

Initially, the BMW X6 is available in North America (now released in the UK) in two variants. The two twin-turbocharged engine. The top-the-line model is the xDrive50i V8 engine that uses 4.4-liter all-new twin-turbocharged. All new version of the engine s 550i/650i ‘(N62) is being used with twin turbo technology from the 135i/335i. It produces 408 PS (300 kW, 402 hp) between 5500 and 6400 rpm, and 600 N m (440 pounds · ft) of torque over the rpm range between 1800 and 4500. This is the first production turbocharged V8 engine in the world to feature its turbocharger between the ‘V’ in the middle of the two cylinder banks. Disposal and intake manifold are in the position of un-traditional – the engine intake and exhaust of the engine are directed to the outside of the ‘V’.

X6 xDrive35i models are powered by 3.0 liter N54 twin-engine turbocharged inline-six gasoline, producing 306 PS (225 kW, 302 hp) between 5800 and 6250 rpm and peak torque of 400 N m (300 lb ft ·) between 1400 and 5000 rpm. This machine also saw duty on the 1 Series, BMW 3 and 5.
Diesel engines

Two variants of diesel has been announced, and are expected to form as much as 90% of sales volume in European markets. The model is called xDrive30d and xDrive 35d, respectively. They are powered by BMW’s 3.0-liter turbodiesel (in sequential twin-turbocharged variant for xDrive35d), and produces 235 PS (173 kW) at 286 xDrive30d and PS (210 kW) version of xDrive 35d. Both of the electrical units will form the basis of the launch of the BMW Diesel in all 50 states in late-2008.
BMW X5 BMW X6 M and M is the first vehicle all-wheel-drive xDrive from M GmbH. This vehicle was inaugurated in 2009 New York Auto Show.

M high-performance derivative features twin coil version of the V8 twin-turbo 4.4-liter BMW N63 with a Cylinder-bank Comprehensive Manifold (CCM). Machines rated 555 PS (408 kW, 547 hp) at 6000 rpm and 680 N m (500 pounds · ft) at 1500-5650 rpm.

Other features include a 6-speed automatic transmission with M Sport aluminum pull-style paddles on the steering wheel, M Dynamic Mode feature, 10 mm (0.4 in) lower the Adaptive Drive suspension, 4-piston fixed calipers with 15.6 “rotor in front and single piston floating calipers with 15.2 “rotors in the rear, 20-inch alloy wheels 275/40R20 front and 315/35R20 tires went flat, special gills in front fenders, 20-inch light-alloy wheels.

Using the BMW “M TwinPower Turbo” unit with High Precision Direct Injection and twin turbochargers as a base, introduce new M engine twin-scroll turbocharger and patented twin exhaust manifold technology to increase thrust and attractive force, while maintaining the most compact dimensions possible. Two low-mass twin-scroll turbocharger together with a catalytic converter positioned in the “V” between the two cylinder banks. By reversing the flow of gas through the engine from the traditional arrangement, the intake and exhaust channels are shortened and widened. The result is that the pressure loss on the exhaust side is minimized.

Corvette Stingray (concept car)

The Corvette Stingray was a privately funded concept car that formed a basis for the second (C2) generation Corvette Sting Ray. The Stingray racer-concept car was designed by Pete Brock the youngest designer to work at GM at that time, Bill Mitchell, GM Vice President of styling, and Larry Shinoda in 1957. The basis of the Stingray was the 1957 Corvette SS, an engineering test mule chassis for the creation of an official Chevrolet race effort culminating with the 24 Hours of LeMans. Soon after its race debut, the Automobile Manufacturers Association (AMA) banned manufacturer-sponsored racing, and the SS had been relegated to test track duty. The Stingray exists today with a 327-cubic-inch (5.4 L), fuel-injected V-8 of 375 hp (280 kW).

General Motors can clearly use all the money it can get, and for the 2010 model year, you'll have to fork over more of it to get behind the wheel of a ZR1. The 2010 638 hp supercar will cost you $109,530; an increase of $2,910 over last year's model. A larger MSRP isn't a good thing, but according to Corvette Blogger, many dealers were already charging $10,000 over sticker for an '09 model, so this could be the General's way of getting a little bigger piece of the action.

For all that dough, you still get the most powerful production Vette of all-time – and a few new items as well. The 2010 model now comes with standard side curtain airbags, launch control and Performance Traction Management System. PTMS, by the way, gives the driver more control over traction settings when in competition mode.

Also new for 2010 is the ability to choose from a far greater array of colors including Torch Red paint, Competition Gray alloys, and a Cashmere toned interior. Hit the jump to pour over the press release.
